Fall is here, and there’s no better way to celebrate the changing of the leaves than by heading out to a festival. You’ll have to drive a little bit outside of Tysons to get to these festivals, but they’re worth the trip!
Amazing Fun Farm Festival
Amazing Farm Fun, located just outside of Fairfax in Ticonderoga, is about a half hour drive from Tysons. Their Fall Festival runs from September 22 through November 4th with fun for the whole family. Tickets are $10.95/person on weekdays and $16.95/person on weekends and Columbus Day. Kids 2 and under get in free every day.
Kids will love the hayrides, peddle carts and pillow bounces that are normally included with admission to Amazing Farm Fun. Make sure to stop in on October 21 and October 28 for $5 pony rides. Dee Vinchey Entertainment will be out October 7-8 and November 3-4 with face paint and temporary tattoos for the whole family.
Parents will appreciate the variety of food trucks and the musical lineup Amazing Farm Fun has throughout the festival. See the venue’s Facebook page for details on when Daniel Carter, Billy & Bob Show, Movin’ On and Josh Lowe will be playing at the festival. All of their concerts are included with the price of admission to the Fall Festival.
Cox Farms Fall Festival
Cox Farms is also about a half hour from Tysons, and their fall festival has been a tradition for generations. It runs September 22-November 6. Ticket prices range from $6-$20, depending on the day. Check their ticket calendar to see how much tickets will be for the day you want to go.
There are so many activities at Cox Farms Fall Festival that you’ll want to plan to stay for at least a few hours. Kids will want to do the slides over and over again, along with the hayride, tunnels, foamhenge, swings and kidzone. They can even do farm chores!
Everyone will want to spend time tasting the different types of apples the farm has, along with apple cider. There’s no need to make a reservation ahead of time.
